Woman expected to survive stabbing in Vancouver

A woman was taken to hospital in a B.C. Ambulance Service 'Advanced Life Support Unit,' Wednesday night after a stabbing in East Vancouver.

A woman was taken to hospital in a B.C. Ambulance Service 'Advanced Life Support Unit,' Wednesday night, after a stabbing in East Vancouver.

Police and paramedics confirmed that the woman is expected to survive her wounds.

It happened just after midnight at the Triage Centre, at 707 Powell St.

Triage Centre is a homeless shelter that provides emergency housing and care services, according to RainCity Housing's website.

Vancouver Police say some sort of altercation led to the stabbing, but the details aren't clear.

Police didn't immediately have a suspect in custody.
