Diabetic son Alex, 15, died in May 2013 from complications from untreated diabetes
A Calgary couple accused of killing their son will stand trial on first-degree murder, a judge ruled Friday.
Rodica and Emil Radita's 15-year-old son Alex died in May 2013 from complications from untreated diabetes.

He weighed less than 40 pounds when first responders arrived at the family's Citadel home to find the boy in medical distress.
Police have said tests showed the boy, who had Type 1 diabetes, died from a bacterial infection that arose from complications stemming from neglect and starvation.
Several adult children also lived in the home but were never charged.
The family had moved from B.C. several years before, where court documents show Emil and Rodica had a history of refusing to treat the boy's illness.
Social services officials in that province seized Alex for a year before returning him to his parents in 2005.
In Calgary, Alex was home schooled, so nobody noticed his deteriorating condition, according to police.
Friday’s decision is the result of a preliminary inquiry, the details of which are covered by a publication ban.
A trial date will be set next month.
