A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man in relation to a fatal stabbing in the Calgary northwest community of Panorama Hills, police announced Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Kyreese George Wright, 20, of Calgary.

Michael Elendu, 19, is being sought by police on a warrant for second-degree murder.

It was issued a day after EMS responded to a call Wednesday morning that a man had been stabbed at a home in the 200 block of Panatella Court N.W. The victim had died before EMS arrived.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect, who had already fled the scene.

Police said they believe the crime was targeted, and the suspect and victim knew each other.

Elendu is described by police as having a slim build, brown eyes and black hair, and standing six feet three inches tall.

Police are asking members of the public with information of his whereabouts to call the homicide tip Line at 403-428-8877 or the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
