Wind, snowfall warnings issued for parts of southern, western Alberta
Winds could reach up to 100 km/h; snowfall totals of 10 to 25 cm expected in some areas
Wind and snowfall warnings have been issued for swaths of southern and western Alberta on Sunday.
Environment Canada says gusts of up to about 100 kilometres per hour are expected in areas including Cardston, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, among many others.
In some cases, the high winds are expected to die down by Monday morning, while other areas will see winds taper off by Sunday night.
Meanwhile, snowfall warnings are in place along the Rocky Mountains, including Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, parts of Kananaskis and many other municipal districts in the region, Environment Canada says.
The agency expects about 10 to 25 centimetres of snowfall in those areas. Higher terrain could see up to 40 centimetres by Monday morning.
