2 women dead following highway collision in central Alberta
The collision, which left two others injured, occurred just before 2:15 p.m., closing Highway 11 for several hours.
2 others injured in multi-vehicle collision Monday afternoon
Two women are dead following a multi-vehicle collision that happened Monday afternoon near Sylvan Lake, Alta.
Sylvan Lake RCMP said the collision occurred just before 2:15 p.m. on Highway 11 at Range Road 35, about 20 kilometres west of the central Alberta community. The highway was closed to traffic until about 10 p.m.
Two women, aged 58 and 29, were found dead in one vehicle. Police said both were residents of Rocky Mountain House, Alta.
Two other individuals, both occupants of a pickup truck involved in the collision, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sylvan Lake is located about 25 kilometres west of Red Deer, Alta.
