E-bike rider crashes into garage door, heads to hospital

An e-bike rider was sent to hospital Monday morning after he drove into a garage door in Stoney Creek.

Around 8:15 a.m., a man driving an e-bike was going northbound on Henley Drive when he lost control and slammed into the garage door of a home.

Police and paramedics were called and found the man "conscious but unresponsive," police say. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 46-year old Hamilton man was charged with careless driving because he had modified the bike "to make the pedals inoperative," police say. He was also charged with driving while suspended.
