Police are searching different areas of east Hamilton as they look for two missing boys.

Roman and Stephen Mackhan-Lively, 12 and 13 years old, respectively, were last seen on July 14, police said.

The boys are believed to be in the areas around Oriole Crescent in McQuesten East, East 38th Street on the Hamilton Mountain or Jutland Crescent near Albion Falls, police said.

Police said they believe the two are together and there are no "immediate safety concerns" but want to confirm their well-being. Patrol units and investigators from police's missing persons unit are searching those neighbourhoods, they said.

Police told CBC Hamilton after requesting further information about their safety that "investigators do not believe that there are immediate safety concerns for either boy. If that changes, then we will amend our messaging."

Roman and Stephen are both described as Black, of light complexion, five feet two inches tall and around 105 and 114 pounds, respectively.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Hamilton police's Missing Person Unit at 905-540-8549 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
