A busy east-London intersection reopened Monday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash led to a diesel spill in the area that morning.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash with a large commercial truck at around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Fanshawe Park Road and Clarke Road.

One person had to be cut out of a vehicle by fire fighters, and two people were taken to hospital, said London Fire Department Platoon Chief Colin Shewell.

Crews have been able to contain a 200 litre diesel spill, Shewell said. Some cleanup was required to contain it.

Police have confirmed the injuries sustained by the people taken to hospital were non life-threatening.
