CBC is a proud sponsor of Climate Change Connection's Youth Climate Video Challenge. Manitoba high school students are challenged to make a video about some aspect of climate change. Videos are posted on the organization's social media and winners are determined by the highest likes, comments and shares. The event is also presented by Efficiency Manitoba's Generation E

The goal of the initiative is to educate youth on climate change facts and solutions (especially those outlined in Manitoba's Road to Resilience.

"We want to know what students from around the province think about taking action against climate change," says Jennifer MacRae, Public Engagement and Outreach Associate with Climate Change Connection. "We want to engage students from rural communities as much as the cities, as these different areas face different challenges and the students will bring different perspectives. We can't wait to see what the students come up with."

The prizes for the winning entries will be:

  • 1st prize: $2000

  • 2nd prize: $1200

  • 3rd prize: $800

The videos will premiere in a private event for students and their families on the evening of April 25 at the Roundhouse Auditorium, on Red River College Princess St Campus; April 25. Following the announcement of the winners, CBC will feature the winners on our website. Check back to see the winning entries.

The deadline for entries is March 31, 2025.
