Winnipeg police on the hunt for driver in fatal hit and run
Police searching for driver of mid-2000 four-door Honda Accord
Winnipeg police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver of a fatal hit and run that left a 30-year-old man dead in downtown Winnipeg Sunday morning.
Police say they're now looking for the driver of a mid-2000 four-door Honda Accord that was silver or grey in colour.
Winnipeg police believe the car will have damage to its passenger-side front bumper.
Police are also now looking to talk to a witness who was riding a bike near the crash.
Const. Rob Carver told reporters Tuesday investigators believe the driver didn't stop to offer the victim any help.
Police said Sunday that the 30-year-old man died after walking near Central Park around 3:15 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle travelling east on Cumberland Avenue near the intersection with Carlton Street.
The man was taken to hospital in critical condition but died in hospital.
Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6271 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
