Driver in serious but stable condition after crash that killed 20-year-old

A 27-year-old driver involved in a head-on crash that killed Taylor Renwick, 20, on the weekend has non-life-threatening injuries at this time, said RCMP Tuesday.

A 27-year-old driver involved in the collision that killed Taylor Renwick is in serious but stable condition, RCMP said on Tuesday.

Injuries he sustained in the crash are not considered life-threatening at this time, police said.

Renwick, 20, died in the head-on collision while she was driving to Thanksgiving celebrations Friday night. The collision happened about two kilometres east of St. Claude, Man.

Earlier Friday night, the man driving the other vehicle was allegedly involved in a police chase after they received reports of an impaired driver in Notre Dame, Man. Police found the man at a St. Claude gas station and a chase ensued, but it was called off by police because he was allegedly driving at excessive speeds.

The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba has been notified of the crash, RCMP said.
