Man, 65, killed in northern Manitoba, 22-year-old woman charged with 2nd-degree murder

A 65-year-old man is dead and a 22-year-old woman is charged with second-degree murder in northern Manitoba.

RCMP were called just before 1 a.m. June 6 about an injured man at a home in Gillam, which is about 740 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

They found the 65-year-old with critical injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the scene, RCMP said in a news release on Monday.

Jodi Ann Ouskan, 22, was arrested at the residence and charged with second-degree murder.

She and the man knew each other, but RCMP did not elaborate on the relationship.

No other information was provided by police.
