2 new measles cases confirmed in southern Manitoba
Children, staff at Southwood School in Schanzenfeld may have been exposed, province says

Public health officials are warning the public about a potential measles exposure at a school in southern Manitoba after two new cases were confirmed Wednesday afternoon.
The two individuals attended Southwood School, an elementary school in Schanzenfeld, the province said in a news bulletin. The cases are related to recent international travel to Mexico, it said.
Anyone who was at the school during school hours or after school until 5:30 p.m. on April 14 and 15, or rode school bus #2683 between 8 a.m. and 10:35 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. those two days may have been exposed, and should monitor symptoms until May 7.
Public Health is communicating directly with the school to notify staff and families, the news bulletin said. Anyone who may have been exposed but has not been directly notified is being asked to contact Health Links at 204-788-8200 or toll-free at 1-888-315-9257.
As of April 7, six cases of measles cases had been confirmed and four had been marked as probable in Manitoba this year, according to provincial data.
