Manitoba RCMP constable charged after crash between police car, 2 other vehicles in Portage la Prairie
Police watchdog says no serious injuries resulted from collision

A Manitoba RCMP constable has been charged in connection with a crash between a police vehicle and two other vehicles in Portage la Prairie.
At 5:30 p.m. on June 30, Const. Rawanjot Pandher was responding to an emergency call when the crash occurred at the intersection of Saskatchewan Avenue and Elm Street, the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba said in a news release in July, when it began its investigation.
The RCMP notified the police watchdog on the same day of the crash. There were no serious injuries as a result of the collision.
As a result of the investigation, Pandher has been charged with failure to drive with due regard to safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, the investigative unit said Friday.
The IIU, which investigates all serious issues involving police in Manitoba, said in its Friday news release it can't provide further comment as the matter is now before the provincial court.
