Montreal police are looking for suspects after two Garda security agents were robbed Wednesday night.

The armed robbery happened around 8:30 p.m. near a Bank of Montreal building at Masson Street and 5th Avenue in Rosemont.

Armed suspects wearing masks approached the Garda armoured truck, held up the two agents and fled with a bag of money, according to Montreal police Const. Manuel Couture.

The agents were not hurt, but one was treated for shock.

Investigators questioned witnesses, checked security cameras and dusted for fingerprints. A canine unit was also deployed to try to sniff out clues.

This is the third armoured truck robbery in the Montreal area since last winter, after incidents in Longueuil and Brossard.

The incidents have the security workers’ union asking for a third guard aboard armoured vehicles.
