2 motorcyclists struck by truck die from injuries

The man in his 60s and woman in her 50s were among five motorcycles heading westbound on Highway 216 around 2 p.m. Saturday when a truck travelling in the opposite direction swerved into their lane.

Two motorcyclists struck by a truck in Saint-Nazaire-de-Dorchester southeast of Quebec City Saturday have died from their injuries. 

The man in his 60s and woman in her 50s were among five motorcycles heading westbound on Highway 216 around 2 p.m. Saturday when a truck travelling in the opposite direction swerved into their lane.

The truck hit the motorcycle carrying the man and woman, critically injuring both.

Another motorcyclist suffered minor injuries after trying to avoid impact with the truck.

The driver of the truck was slightly injured.

Police are investigating the incident and were reconstructing the crash to determine its cause.
