Police investigating death of 60-year-old woman in Montreal's Anjou borough

Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old woman who was found early Tuesday morning in an apartment in Montreal's Anjou borough as a homicide.

Montreal police were called around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday to report to a residence near the intersection of Baldwin Street and Yves-Prévost Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were signs of violence on her body, according to preliminary reports.

A security perimeter was erected to allow Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) major crimes unit investigators to examine the scene.

Police have not made any arrests so far. The death marks the 22nd homicide on SPVM territory in 2025.

Radio-Canada is reporting that the woman was killed by her son. He was found dead on Tuesday on Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, according to Radio-Canada. The circumstances of his death are not yet known.
