Officers went to the east side home at about 4 p.m. in response to a request for a well-being check.

Upon entering the residence, they heard what they believed was a gunshot, LeBlanc said.

Neighbouring residences were evacuated and the road was blocked.

The scene was contained until Emergency Tactical Services arrived, entered the residence and found the two deceased, she said.

Multiple police cruisers and an ambulance responded to the home.

The road was reopened after about two hours.
