Search underway for missing senior, 79, who may be disoriented

A search is underway in the Saint John suburb of Grand Bay-Westfield for a 79-year-old woman who disappeared Sunday morning.

A search is underway in the Saint John suburb of Grand Bay-Westfield for a 79-year-old woman who disappeared Sunday morning.

Police say Ruth Carol Sutton, who goes by the name Carol, was last seen walking on Mallard Drive at about 9:10 a.m. In a news release, RCMP said she suffers from a medical condition that may cause her to become disoriented. 

Sutton is described as being about five feet two inches tall and 130 pounds. She has blue eyes and white hair and was last seen wearing a light blue jacket, according to police. 

Police, ground search and rescue teams, and police dog services were in the area searching for Sutton on Sunday afternoon.
