Morningstar murder trial to resume Tuesday with closing statements
Crown closed its case against 19-year-old Devin Morningstar on Wednesday

The first-degree murder trial of Devin Morningstar will continue on Tuesday after defence lawyer Robert Rideout decided not to enter evidence.
Morningstar is charged with killing 18-year-old Baylee Wylie last December. Wylie was found dead in a burned-out triplex on Sumac Street. He was stabbed more than 200 times, and Morningstar told police he inflicted three of the wounds.
The Crown called its last witnesses on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the court heard testimony from Claude Leblanc, a friend of Morningstar's, who said the two are "closer than brothers."

Leblanc picked Morningstar up on Sumac Street after the killing. He testified that Morningstar seemed upset but didn't talk about what was bothering him.
"He's a good guy," Leblanc said of Morningstar.
Two other people are charged in the death of Wylie. Tyler Noel will go on trial in October 2017, and Marissa Shephard will be in court in May for a preliminary hearing.
