The MS Amadea, the first ship scheduled to stop in St. John's this cruise season, has cancelled its arrival.

The ship and its 600 passengers had been scheduled to dock in St. John's Wednesday. It docked in Halifax on Monday.

However, the City of St. John's says the boat has cancelled its stop here.

Instead of the Amadea, the Silver Whisper with 328 passengers will be the first cruise ship to stop in St. John's May 8.

The city estimates roughly 30,000 passengers will come to St. John's in the 2015 cruise season.
