Autism Society drives up fundraising with go-kart race
In a first for the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, supporters sped up fundraising efforts with a race at the G-Force Karting track in Torbay.
15 teams took turns driving five go-karts during the Monster Rally Race for Autism on Monday.

Tess Hemeon, the society's manager of advocacy and communications, said the group is hoping to make it an annual event.
"We were pretty enthusiastic about it from the get go," she said.
"A lot of our friends and family have come out to be involved as well and, from there, it just spiralled."
All proceeds from Monday's event will go towards helping families and individuals in the province effected by autism.
More than $20,000 was raised, with ReMax 1, Coldwell Banker ProCo and ReMax 2 coming in as the top teams.
