Passengers expecting to travel across the Strait of Belle Isle are in for more delays, as the MV Apollo is tied up in St. Barbe until the end of the weekend.
The ferry, which operates between Blanc Sablon and St. Barbe, was stuck in ice earlier this morning on approach to St. Barbe.
The ship managed to get free and arrived in port on Friday where it remains tied up as strong winds are forecast for Friday evening.
The Canadian Coast Guard said the CCGS Ann Harvey is en route from St. John's to provide assistance for the Apollo's Sunday crossing.
