Knockout wins for Parsons, Crocker, Joyce
Thousands more votes than opponents
Three Liberals scored knockout wins in the 2015 election, bringing in thousands of more votes than any of their opponents.
In terms of percentage, veteran MHA Andrew Parsons had the biggest win of any candidate, in Burgeo-La Poile.
Parsons won in a Liberal stronghold, with a stunning 96.5 per cent of the votes cast. That compared to 2.2 per cent for Georgia Darmonkow of the Progressive Conservatives and 1.3 per cent for the NDP's Kelly McKeown.
In terms of vote totals, the edge went to Steve Crocker in Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde.
Crocker polled 4,423 votes more than his closest opponent. He finished the night with 4,952 votes, compared with 529 for PC Tomás Shea, 304 for the NDP's David Coish and 38 for the independent candidate Ed Cole.
Eddie Joyce also romped to a Liberal victory in Humber-Bay of islands, with 4,622 votes. Tory candidate Ron Jesseau had 564 votes, while the NDP's Conor Curtis trailed with 282.
Unofficial election results show that 14 candidates finished the night with margins of victory of at least 2,000 votes.
