For the second week in a row, drivers across Newfoundland and Labrador paid more for their gas on Thursday morning, as the prices of gas and diesel are up.

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) increased the maximum price of gasoline by 3.4 cents, and as a result, motorists on the Avalon Peninsula will now be paying as much as $1.35 a litre for self serve.

That same litre of gas costs $1.49 in Cartwright.

Diesel drivers will also notice a slight increase, as the price for diesel fuel is up 0.5 cents a litre across the province.

Last week, the price of gas went up by 3.1 cents a litre.

Furnace and stove oil are down by 0.43 cents per litre, while propane prices increased by 0.5 cents per litre.

The next scheduled price setting is next Thursday.
