Murder suspect Graham Veitch has had his court-ordered psychiatric assessment extended another week.

Murder suspect Graham Veitch has had his court-ordered psychiatric assessment extended another week.

Veitch, 19, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of pharmacist David Collins. Collins died in hospital after being assaulted in a home in Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove on Dec. 18.

He appeared in court Wednesday morning, where the assessment was extended another seven days.

Veitch has also been charged with assaulting his mother, who had been Collins's partner, and his brother with a hammer.

After his arrest, he was also charged with stealing a motor vehicle belonging to Collins, evading police, and assaulting a police officer.
