A long-time federal Liberal Party worker wants to run for the provincial Liberal party in the Humber West byelection.

Corner Brook native Mark Watton plans to file his nomination papers before the noon deadline on Saturday.

Watton, who now practises law in Toronto, was a top advisor to former Prime Minister Paul Martin and the chief of staff to former federal cabinet minister Ken Dryden.
