Ice buildup hampers Labrador web access

Winter weather has compromised internet access and even some telephone services in Labrador.

Bell Aliant said ice buildup on a tower near Happy Valley-Goose Bay left some areas around Labrador without high-speed internet services.

The company said there have also been some problems with long-distance phone service, particularly when demand is high.

Bell Aliant was hoping to have a crew clear the ice on Thursday.

It's the second time this month that harsh weather conditions have affected service.
