Liberal Leader Dwight Ball says he will allow a free vote for his MHAs on Bill 13.

The legislation, which would redraw the Newfoundland and Labrador electoral map and change the election date, is currently being debated in the House of Assembly.

During a leader's debate on this week's episode of On Point with David Cochrane, Ball revealed that he will let his MHAs vote any way they wish.

"Our MHAs will have the opportunity to free vote on this Bill 13 around the electoral reform," he said.

Ball said that will give members the freedom to properly represent voters in their districts.

"On issues like this, I think this is important," he said.

"They can be able to listen and hear from their constituents."
