The RCMP says it has arrested one man at a home on Adelaide Street in Carbonear on Thursday afternoon.
Police asked people in the area to shelter in place and for the public to stay away as they conducted an operation.
Harbour Grace RCMP made a post on the social media platform X about an increased police presence in the area.
The RCMP offered no other details, but said the public can resume regular activities.
