Former teacher Markus Hicks faces new sexual violence charges as 10 more people come forward: police

Former teacher Marcus Hicks, who is accused of using fake identities online to lure adults and minors into sexual acts, now faces 150 charges. Police also say they found a mountain of videos and pictures in his possession.

Markus Hicks, a former substitute teacher and volleyball coach who is accused of using a fake online identity to lure people into sexual acts, faces dozens of new charges, according to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

Police said in a press release Tuesday that Hicks was arrested Monday and charged with 63 new counts related to 10 new complainants.

Const. James Cadigan, the force's media relations officer, confirmed some of the new complainants are minors. 

Hicks now faces 150 sexual violence charges involving 24 complainants. 

The charges include luring a child, disguise with intent, sexual assault and possession of child pornography.

The investigation of Hicks, 32, began in August. Since then police say they have uncovered tens of thousands of images and videos dating back 15 years.

Police also released a list of online aliases Hicks allegedly used to lure victims, including Isabella Ricci, Corrine Smith, Maria Winchester and Brittany Campbell.
