Home security footage captures slow speed chase in St. John's

Police escorts are typically used for high-ranking officials or other VIPs, but a different kind of Royal Newfoundland Constabulary motorcade was caught on camera in St. John's Monday night.

This home security video was shot in the Newfoundland Drive/Portugal Cove Road area of St. John’s at around 9 p.m. Monday. It belongs to Chris Nicholas.

The RNC says the slow-speed chase of the furry bandits lasted several hours, until wildlife officials arrived and tranquilized the animals.

The two moose were then safely released in the woods.

The size of the moose indicates they are pretty young, and wildlife officers say they're actually brother and sister.
