The Music Exchange brings Newfoundland and Labrador musicians together with new Canadians to share traditional songs.

In this episode, Cuban-born musician Hierrito Onelvis Fernandez joins Shanneyganock's Chris Andrews in his living room, to play some tunes.

Onelvis plays an original song he wrote called "Madre."

He says the song was inspired by how much he misses his mother, who lives in Cuba.

Onelvis plays the song for the first time for Andrews, who then responds with the well-known folk ballad, "Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary's."
