It appears that employees of the Innu band in Natuashish are getting paid, after missing two payrolls in a row.
For the past two weeks, the band — the major employer in the community — had been unable to meet its payroll. Workers are paid on a weekly basis.
On Thursday, Chief Simeon Tshakapesh would not explain why the band has had cash flow problems, and claimed that "minor stuff" had caused the problem.
Workers contacted by CBC News said that not all of the back wages have been paid.
