Gas and diesel drop by less than a cent in weekly price setting
Gas down 0.6 cents per litre
Drivers in Newfoundland and Labrador will see a slight decrease Thursday in the price of gas.
The Public Utilities Board lowered the maximum price for gasoline by 0.6 cents per litre as part of its weekly price adjustment. That means drivers on the Avalon Peninsula, where gas is usually cheapest, will pay no more than $1.657 per litre.
Prices vary across the rest of the province depending on your location, but maximum prices now range between $1.66 and $1.83 per litre across Newfoundland and between $1.64 and $2.20 per litre in Labrador.
The price of diesel decreased by 0.7 cents per litre across much of the province, except by 0.6 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. Prices now range between $1.81 and $1.93 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1.88 and $2.59 per litre in Labrador.
Furnace oil decreased by 0.55 cents per litre, meaning customers in Newfoundland will now pay maximum prices between $1.16 and $1.34 per litre depending on their location.
The price of stove oil decreased by 0.75 cents per litre, except by 0.48 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls. Prices for the fuel now range between $1.13 and $1.31 in Newfoundland and between $1.25 and $1.95 per litre in the Big Land.
Propane was the lone fuel to increase in price, up 0.6 cents per litre. That means maximum prices now range between $1.01 and $1.14 per litre in Newfoundland, and between 87 cents and $1.32 per litre in Labrador.
