Popping the question at Sci-Fi on The Rock

Jason Gosse chose Sci-Fi on the Rock as the place to surprise his girlfirend Jessica Kilbride by popping the question.

Gosse and Kilbride are long-time fans of the St. John's science fiction and fantasy convention. Gosse said he was stressed out because of all the running around he was doing since he was handling security at the convention, but he wasn't nervous about the proposal. He was also confident what Kilbride's answer would be.

This is a big week for Kilbride. As well as the proposal, her family is visiting from Ontario and was in the room for the proposal. She also is graduating from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and minoring in history.

Gosse said Kilbride has found the reaction to the engagement "overwhelming" and the couple had lots of people offering them congratulations since the proposal was posted on YouTube.
