Possible first polar bear sighting for La Scie

Colleen Gray saw an unusual sight on Monday when a polar bear strolled into her hometown of La Scie on the Baie Verte Peninsula.

Gray says La Scie currently has a problem with coyotes and black bear sightings are not unusual, but it's the first time she's seen a polar bear in the area.  

She said some people saw the animal walking from the street and then into the harbour. Gray's husband then used a boat to try and guide the bear out to sea.
