Hundreds of people descended on Lester's Farm in St. John's on Saturday for the 14th annual Pumpkinfest.

The event has grown in popularity over the years, and features games and activities for kids, local entertainment, fresh food and more.

One of the popular activities for the kids was the hay fight, where brothers and sisters jumped at the opportunity to throw dry grass at each other.

Of course, it wouldn't be a visit to the farm in October without perusing the lovely gourd selection.

You can imagine the excitement of the little ones when they wandered into one of the farm's greenhouses to find their favourite princesses, just hanging out on some hay bales and posing for some fall photos.

Finally, the pie eating contest. An event where even the most diligently placed garbage bag couldn't keep the mess off the contestants during the furious feeding frenzy.
