Randy Simms takes leave of absence to run provincially

The mayor of Mount Pearl will officially take a leave of absence, effective Wednesday, to run as a Liberal against Steve Kent in Mount Pearl North.

Randy Simms is officially taking a leave of absence from his role as mayor of Mount Pearl, effective Wednesday, to run in the provincial election.

The leave of absence will run from Nov. 4 until Nov. 30.

Simms is looking to be elected as a Liberal MHA in Mount Pearl North.

That seat is currently held by Tory Minister and Deputy Premier Steve Kent.
