Seniors choir aims to delight members, audiences

The Gospel Folk Seniors Choir has a mission — to make the audience, and its members, feel great.
About 30 members of the choir joined CBC's CrossTalk in studio on Thursday to treat listeners to some melodies.
Daphne Benson, director of the choir, said she felt the urge about a year and a half ago to start a gospel choir for seniors.
"I don't know where the urge came from, so I finally decided that I would and I pulled together some people and we had 20 to start with and now we have 35," said Benson.
"We got together and discovered that we really loved to sing gospel together, we loved our rehearsals, we get a lot of joy and laughter."
The choir performs in churches, seniors' homes and at community concerts.
