Students at Waterford Valley High School were notified Monday of his death. A crisis support team has been at the school providing counselling for students and staff.
"The entire district offers our support and condolences to the family and friends of Mr. King; they are certainly in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time," said Ken Morrissey with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District in an email.
We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of our PE teacher Danny King. He was a great teacher, colleague, mentor and friend to so many.
