Steve Kent gets endorsement from Labrador MHA Keith Russell
Aspiring Progressive Conservative leader Steve Kent has picked up support from one of the caucus's Labrador MHAs.
Keith Russell, a backbencher who represents Lake Melville, said Kent has the "complete package" for the premier's office, but adds that it is Kent's youthful energy that really separates him from the other candidates.
"His work ethic is second to none," Russell said.
"His dedication to his family and youth in general. He's got a track record through Scouts [Canada and] Big Brothers Big Sisters. He's dedicated to the people of the province and it shows in everything that he does."
Russell said Kent understands Labrador issues better than race opponents John Ottenheimer or Paul Davis.
Tories will elect a new leader on Sept. 13 at a convention in St. John's.
