Passengers trying to cross the Strait of Belle Isle between western Newfoundland and the mainland continued to be stymied by heavy ice Monday.
The MV Apollo has not made the crossing between St. Barbe and Blanc Sablon, in southern Quebec, since last Wednesday.
The problem was caused by a buildup of sea ice.
The Apollo was able to sail Sunday from Quebec to Corner Brook. The Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker Henry Larsen has been scheduled to return to Corner Brook later this week to help the MV Apollo resume its usual route.
