Comets edge IceCaps 3-2

Brendan Gaunce scored five seconds into overtime Saturday night, to deny the IceCaps two points, as the Utica Comets prevailed 3-2 at Mile One Centre.

The IceCaps led 2-1 on goals by Jacob de la Rose and Gabriel Dumont, but with only 1:28 to go in regulation time, Gaunce scored, to force the extra frame.

Eddie Pasquale stopped 26 shots in the loss.

The IceCaps paid tribute to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment again on Saturday, and wore special tribute jerseys to honour all those who have served and continue to serve in the military.
