Random Island, in Newfoundland's Trinity Bay, was among the areas hit hardest when Hurricane Igor ripped across much of Newfoundland on Tuesday. An elderly man was washed to sea, and volunteers wanting to help were stymied for almost two days before they could reach the island.
CBC reporter Lee Pitts was there Thursday to capture the scenes of recovery, and one family's emotional reunion.
