5 men, 1 who has since died, charged with kidnapping in Whitehorse, say RCMP
Police say the investigation continues and they expect to lay more charges

RCMP say five people – one who has since died – have been charged with kidnapping using a firearm and other weapons offences following an incident earlier this month in Whitehorse.
Police said in a news release that around 8:45 p.m. on April 14 several 911 calls were made that were tracked to a home in the Kulan subdivision area.
Additional resources were called in after an investigator went to the area, including a critical incident program team and emergency response team, RCMP said. Six men were arrested without incident, said police, and one of them was taken to hospital.
Two other men, said to be victims in the incident, were taken to hospital, treated and released, RCMP said. Neither of them were from the Yukon and both have since returned to Vancouver.
Police said they raided the home and property two days later and found a semi-automatic assault rifle, a disassembled handgun and three bags containing suspected crack cocaine.
Five men were charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon and kidnapping using a firearm. One of the men has since died in an "unrelated event" after he was released from custody. That death is now being investigated by the Yukon coroner's office
Two of the men charged remain in custody while two others were released.
Police said one man who was arrested and taken to hospital was released from custody but "remains the subject of continued investigation."
They also said more charges are expected.
