90 kilos of caribou meat found dumped in Inuvik, N.W.T.

The Northwest Territories’ Department of Environment is investigating allegations of meat wastage in Inuvik after about 90 kilograms of caribou meat was found dumped in multiple sites around the town.   

The department is asking the public to come forward with any information.  

It says all meat from big game animals must be used, including necks and ribs.

Only the head, lower legs, internal parts and meat damaged from gunshots can be left behind.
