Cynthia Blackjack, 31, died while being medevaced one year ago, on Nov 7, 2013.

The cause of death was reported as multi-organ failure secondary to liver failure. A coroner's inquest found issues with medical equipment and made recommendations for the government to review policies and procedures.

Documents filed in Yukon Supreme Court show Theresa Blackjack alleges, among other things, that the Yukon Government failed to keep the Carmacks Health Centre and the medevac aircraft supplied with functioning and necessary equipment to provide care for her daughter.

The documents name a nurse, a doctor, two paramedics, the Department of Health and Social Services and the Department of Community Services as defendants.

Theresa Blackjack says she doesn't want to speak publicly about the lawsuit.

A case management conference has been scheduled for February.
