A wrestling match, with a difference, will take place in Dawson City this weekend.

The town is hosting the third annual League of Lady Wrestlers. The event features local female wrestlers, fighting it out in a homemade ring.

Organizer Andrea Pelletier says it's a chance for women to explore different parts of their personality. "We have a lot of alternative forms of femininity," she said.  "So, we have bossy women, we have sad women, we have disgusting women and they're all kind of cheered on and accepted and understood through the language of wrestling."

Pelletier says the wrestlers really brawl and sometimes get hurt, but the event is all in good fun. Other chapters of the league exist in Toronto and Montreal.

The wrestling match takes place at the historic Guggieville site, off Bonanza Creek, just outside Dawson City, on Saturday night.
