Remains found near Dettah ID'd as those of missing man Mark Lynn

Human remains found near Dettah, N.W.T., last week have been confirmed to be those of Mark Lynn, missing since Aug. 24.

In a news release Thursday, RCMP said a forensic examination of the remains provided a positive identification.

A cause of death has not been determined.

Lynn, 21, was last seen on the evening of Aug. 24 at a gathering near the lagoon area of Dettah. He was reported missing on Aug. 28.

Volunteers and RCMP made extensive searches of the area. 

RCMP discovered bone fragments along with other evidence they declined to describe. Local searchers later recovered a skull from a wolf den. The search was called down on Sunday.
